Princess Crowder's Baby Shower
The proud expecting parents.
To a New Mother
When God Created Mother
He fashioned her with love
He made her strong, yet tender
and gentle as a dove
He gave her arms for holding
When storm clouds fill the sky
Legs and arms that swiftly move
Ears to hear a baby’s cry
Wisdom for Life’s Journey
To help her children grow
Faith to teach them how to live
Strength to let them go
God made her like no other
For he knew one day she would be blessed
with the special name “Mother”
A New Father
God created an earthly Father for he knew that there should be a caring man to love and guide in every family
To Answer Life’s great questions
when his children wonder “why”
To laugh and play, be near each day
as years pass quickly by
To listen as they say their prayers
as he tucks them in at night
To pick them up when they fall down
and always hold them tight
But the most important thing in life,
God created Fathers to do is tell his children
they are special then whisper “I Love You”
The baby shower for Princess Crowder was on Saturday February 19, 2011 at the Club House. We enjoyed the presence of friends and family who traveled near and far. Our guests traveled from Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Maryland and various cities throughout NC to fellowship with us in our special day. We enjoyed live musical entertainment, games and a ceremony.
The Diaper Wreath
This diaper wreath was created by Designs by Fran but inspired by Fran's mother. It was made with lots of bath cloths, tulle and ribbon. We used the colors of light pink, fuchsia, lavender and green; the colors that were used throughout the baby shower.
Poems
There were poems displayed on each of the tables at the baby shower. The one shown in the photo is "A Baby Blessing" and "Babies are Angels".
The Diaper Cake
The diaper cake consisted of all the colors that were used at the baby shower. Also, there were accents of tulle, pearls and rose petals throughout the cake. The daisies were used to symbolize April's flower since the baby is due in April.
The Advice and Blessings Tree. When guests entered the baby shower and signed the guest book they received a card to write advice and/or blessings to the new parents. The advice cards were hung on the tree for all the guests to see and also to decorate the tree.
Favor Boxes
The favor boxes were pink with pink and white ribbons, sweet baby stickers, and tulle stuffed in each box. They were filled with "It's A Girl" buttercream mints. All of the favor boxes were displayed on a table for each guest to take one home with them.
A Grandmother's Love
"A Grandmother's Love" Poem was read during the ceremony. Both grandmothers were presented with a framed copy of the poem.
The Godparents were also presented with a framed poem.
"We searched for someone special,
both a woman and a man,
to be the Godparents of our child,
to serve as God's right hand.
"To you has been entrusted God's own loving care,
and we have peace of mind and heart,
knowing you are there."
"We are sure that up in heaven,
the Lord looked down and smiled,
when He saw that you were chosen as Godparents of our child."
Flowers
Corsages: The mother to be wore a double rose corsage with pink gemstones. The grandmothers, godmother and hostesses wore a single rose corsage.
Fresh assorted flowers were placed on each table in a vase with tinted pink water. Tutus were tied around the bottom of each vase decorated with pearls and gems.
The tables also included Table numbers and bottles of water labeled with the event and date.
The Candle Lighting Ceremony
The candle lighting ceremony is a Indian Tradition. The ceremony was done to honor the expectant mother's Indian heritage.
"Here's a candle for you to light,
Once the angel has made its flight.
With the flicker of the flame,
Say a prayer in the baby's name.
"A little candle for you to light,
Once the angel has made its flight.
The flame will glow to celebrate,
Baby Crowder's arrival date".
"This is a gift for you today,
So when I'm born you'll light my way.
And when that happy day is here,
Burn this candle and spread good cheer".
